ROASTED GARLIC LASAGNA

ROASTED GARLIC LASAGNA

Ingredients
  • 1 pound Italian sausage, cooked, crumbled, and drained
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 large jar marinara sauce
  • 1 package lasagna noodles (I used 6 total, two layers of three noodles)
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 5-7 roasted garlic cloves
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400
  2. Brown Italian sausage over medium heat, break into very small pieces. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent. Drain fat, add pasta sauce (reserving about 3/4 cup) and set aside.
  3. In a small bowl combine cream cheese, sour cream, Parmesan, green onions, garlic, and seasonings. Mix well. If you prefer to have chunks of garlic with in your lasagna, just stir well. However, if you want a smoother texture you may want to use your food processor.
  4. Before assembling check your pasta, if you are using no bake lasagna noodles there is no need to prep the noodles. But if they aren't no bake, cook in boiling water according to package direction.
  5. In a large greased baking dish pour the reserved pasta sauce on the bottom of dish. Top sauce with lasagna noodles (it is okay if they overlap) add a layer of the meat mixture, then the cheese filling, top with mozzarella cheese. Continue in this order until you have used all ingredients.
  6. Bake 45 minutes until it is golden and bubbly.
